| Week 8: This was an interesting week -- there weren't many games with low point spreads, so unsurprisingly, there weren't many upsets. Just two, in fact: Oakland and the Giants. Both Flo and David K managed to pick all the upsets this week. With so few bonus points available, Pick Percentage was definitely King this week, and the crown goes to Susan and Tyler who each made only one incorrect pick. David K, with his two bonus points managed to squeeze between mother and son to make it a three way tie for first. As is often the case by this time in the season, the leaderboard tends to have fewer major disruptions (but just ask Donna if that's always true...). David K's performance moved him from 3rd into a tie with Luke for 2nd; Tyler also moves up a slot, but Susan doesn't because she was just behind David K to begin with. Emma manages to score the biggest positive move of the week, from 12th to 10th. |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread).
Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
