Week 8: 2 Genius Picks (tm) top our news from this past week: Terry with Chicago, and Dusty with Carolina! Congrats, gentlemen! (Now, please live up to that salutation in your gloating ;-) )
The cream that is Donna rises to the top this week, with a nice 11 point total including two upsets. That pushes her up a spot on the season standings as well. Donna is followed closely by Dusty, Luke, and newcomer Natalie, none of whom can employ their good weekly showing to advance on the season standings board this week. Terry, with his league-leading 3 upset picks this week, is the only other upwardly mobile participant, advancing one spot.
Emma still leads all handily, but Luke appears to be gaining steadily, as well as distancing himself from Susan. Sparky and Dusty are sitting quietly at 4 and 5, close behind and ready to pounce, I think. |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread).
Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
