Week 13: We were blessed to have Dusty and Edith with us for this Thanksgiving week, to share our home, family, feast, and football! What a treat! Hopefully, it was a bit of a distraction from the pool for Dusty...
This week marked the first time this year that the weekly leader board has been topped by two women -- Donna's performance bumps her up two spaces for the season, and Flo flip-flops with Ken again to re-take second place. This was also the first week where we are back to no "byes" so we are having a full complement to pick from, which might tend to broaden the results a bit. Curiously, all our active players ended up in a tie, with the exceptions of Caroline and Dusty -- I'm not sure why they couldn't have gotten along. David K is our only other positive mover on the season board, managing to stay one point ahead of Donna. Likewise, only one point separates Susan from big brother Mark, and the coveted 2nd place in the family. |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread). Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
