| Week 11: This was an interesting week in that five people picked exactly half the games correctly -- one ended up next to last of active players; another ended up in first place. There were more upset points available this week, six to be precise, and David K managed to get all but one, and the one he failed to get is the one that nobody got -- St. Louis! What happened to you, Denver?! Three other players picked three upsets correctly, and all active players got at least one (thanks to our Patriots!) David K's big week moves him from a three way tie for ninth all the way to a three way tie for fifth. Over the course of two weeks, though, David is only up one spot, so he earns the Philae award for a slow motion bounce. Still a very tight race among the top three, and in fact the troika distance themselves from fourth place Jacob by one additional, hard-fought point. Flo adds two more points between herself and Luke. |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread). Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
