| Week 10: Seems like we haven't gotten enough opportunities to say good things about Ben yet this season, but Ben has a great week this week, with a pool best 77%, a pool best 10 correct (well, those two measures *do* go together...), and a pool best 2 upset picks, earning Ben sole ownership of first place this week, and moving him closer to the next grouping on the season standings board. This week there was very little shuffling of that board, and only in the middle section, but Susan continues to make a slow and steady climb, cutting half the distance between her and Jacob. Someday we will have to come up with an appropriate label for the opposite of a "genius pick" but for now, I'll just ask David K how the limb he stepped out on is holding up... |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread).
Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
