| Week 9: Fabulous Flo finishes first afresh! Finally finishing family feud, Flo fights fairly for freedom from fascist foe, flies four flights up season standings. OK, that might be a bit of a stretch, but I was running out of alliterative steam. It was another week with few upsets, but Flo earns a decided MacArther Genius award (perhaps less well known than the MacArthur awards, due to there being no money associated with them, but no less prestigious among the cognoscenti) for the Chicago pick, which thrust her, once again, into the limelight. Caroline and Flo tie this week for the best pick percentage, at 69%. The top and bottom of the leaderboard held steady this week, with only the middle of the board benefitting from some shuffling. Emma pops three spots back up; Ken and Michael two. Congratulations to Jeff on his Bar Mitzvah this week! It was a moving ceremony, and a great celebration. It's no wonder he didn't find the time to fill in his pick sheet, and for this we are sad :-( |

Scoring: Each correct pick earns you a point. In addition to that, each correct underdog pick earns you a bonus point. Underdogs are indicated by the presence of a number next to the team name on the pick sheet, representing the number of points that they are expected to lose by (point spread). Deadlines: It is in your interest to make your picks accurately and get them in on time. Late submissions may be allowed at the discretion of the poolmaster; changes in picks, after the submission deadline, are not allowed. |

The winner at the end of the regular season gets their name engraved on the plaque of the trophy. The previous year's winner is responsible for getting the plaque updated, and the trophy mailed to the new winner in a timely fashion. Mark and Rosa have set the bar very high for turnaround time here.
Note: only family members are eligible for the family trophy. Other invited players are eligible for the "Family and Friends" trophy.
While we do run a pool for the postseason, there is no prize other than the honor of winning. |
